Its all one big secret...

My girlfriend pointed out that I haven't made a post to the blog in a while, so she decided I should make one - she keeps me on track with things like that. :)

I don't want to jinx anything here, but I have just finished a series of interviews with a reporter ... I normally shy away from media (I got tired of being misquoted and taken out of context) but this is a project I thought would come out nice. I'll be sure to post more information on this when I have more info on it.

I've also been remodeling an unused room in my house to serve as a video studio ... it is coming along nicely, still need to throw up some paint but I've installed lights and hauled some unused furniture to the dump. Again, I don't want to jinx anything here so that is all I'm going to say at the moment.

I haven't had a lot of time to mess with the website, and what little time I have had has been wasted fighting spammers. But that problem has been solved with the new blog server, and I am planning some changes including some secret areas with some secret, but I don't want to tip my hat on any of that yet either.

So basically everything is one big secret right now ... don't you just love secrecy?!?

Death to the spam

My webserver reports over 25,000 hits for the month of November ... the problem is, the vast overall majority of it is pure spam to the b2evolution blog software. See, the b2evo software has a "feature" (?) that posts a link to the most recent referrer to send a hit; it also posts links to the top referrers. Thus, spam bots search the web looking for b2evo blogs and begin sending fake hits to get their URLs on those lists.

I removed the link bot parts of the code, but those idiots aren't smart enough to figure that out ... so while they weren't actually getting any traffic, they continued to spam me anyway. I have finally had enough and by December 1st I will remove the b2evo software so that I can restore accuracy to my hit counters.

This is sad, because I really liked the b2evo software. I have opted to switch to a 3rd party solution, blogger.com ... there is no import feature, so I will need to go back and post all my old blogs again. I don't think I can keep the comments, sorry.

So that's the situation, I've got a lot of work to do ... I'll make a relevant

UPDATE: all previous blog posts have been moved to the new blog server, hopefully everything is in tact. If you find any broken links or what not, use the contact form at my site to let me know. Thanks!
