More Floating Street Lamp...
My Floating Street Lamp has stirred a good conversation at The Buskers Cafe, and I have received lots of positive and encouraging feedback. This is all good, as I really wasn't sure if my illusion would work and now I am pretty sure it will.
I wanted to post a couple more pics people have requested, these should give you a better idea as to what is going on:
In the opening scene, you see the entire street lamp from top to bottom. The camera will ultimately be positioned on the hood of my truck facing the base of the street lamp:
Here is a closeup of the base itself, you will notice that it is stained with rust. The lamp pole is pretty much nothing more than rust at this stage, as it has been standing in place for a long time now.
And here is another shot of the actual levitation. I remember several years ago I started asking magicians how I could accomplish this and was told it was not possible. Now I am listening to comments like "beautiful" ... "that's thinking outside the box" ... "creative" ... "awesome" ... if the video turns out this good, it will be a winner.
We have now processed the raw footage and Dana says she has what she needs to do a video, but she is also reserving the right to change her mind (which is odd for her to say, since as a woman she always has that right). This is good because I would like to start working on my next big illusion: I'm going to make a tree vanish!
