After 10 years ... it has snowed here!
I met Thomas in the early 90's in Washington DC. He was holding a sign in front of the White House. He was the first person I had ever heard use the expression "peace in the Middle East". Peace protesters come and go as wars begin and end ... but Thomas is still holding his sign in front of the White House to this day!
When I first met Thomas, I liked his message ... but I didn't actually believe it. I mean, he seemed to think that one day mankind would just stop fighting. Such a nice thought, you want to believe him. It would be hard to laugh at him and tell him to keep dreaming ... but inside, that is exactly how I felt.
But then something happened ... I created six inches of real snow in Myrtle Beach, something that is clearly impossible. And as I watched my snow melt, I realized that Thomas also has an impossible dream ... and that he is doing the same thing I am doing: making his dream come true.
