No Respect ... NEXT!
... but wait! You might need a entertainers license - "a what?" - to charge admission. So I go down, talk to the people that issue business licenses and the lady basically thinks I am nuts.
... but wait! There is a magic store in Barefoot Landing, he might object to this. He would? News to me - since he already agreed to pass out flyers and offered to hang up posters, but if he might object someone should clear it with him first.
... but wait! What if one of the other stores complain? JoeJoe, your going to hafta talk to Anne Maria about this. And of course, for whatever reason she wants to get the owner of Barefoot Landing's permission first. Ok so, now I'm wondering if Stool Pigeons needs to get the owners permission before they hire a band to play? Seems stupid to me - but whatever, at this point I don't really care.
Naturally, someone finally says no. So the show is now cancelled.
I just want to make people laugh smile and have a good time, and I don't feel like I should need to jump through flaming hoops to do so - I'm not a freaking dog and don't like being treated like one ... at the very least, Anne Maria could have had enough respect for me to tell me "no" to my face instead of having others do her dirty work. Next year, I'll find a new pitch.
JoeJoe
